About the Author

Christian Mancas, PhD, is currently an associate professor with both the Mathematics and Computer Science Departments of Ovidius University, Constanta, Romania, and the Engineering Taught in Foreign Languages Department (Computer Science and Telecommunications in English stream) of Politehnica University, Bucharest, Romania (as an invited professor). Since 2012, he is also a database architect with Asentinel International srl, Bucharest, a subsidiary of Asentinel LLC, Memphis, Tennessee. His specialties include university teaching, R&D, business analysis, conceptual data and knowledge modeling and querying, client-server, hierarchical software architecture, object-oriented, event-driven design, structured development, complex project and small IT company management, Datalog, SQL, C#, XML programming, etc.

Professor Christian Mancas has published dozens of scientific papers (in Romania, USA, Austria, and Greece), which have been indexed by ACM Digital Library, Zentralblatt, Scopus, DBLP, Arnetminer, Researchr, TDGS, SCEAS, etc. He has also published three books in Romanian and dozens of reviews (mostly in USA, including ACM Reviews). He was a program committee member and session chairman for several software conferences in USA, Austria, and Romania, and he is a member of several associations (including ACM, the Romanian Mathematics Sciences Society, and the International Who’s Who of Professionals). Since 2006, his biography is included in Marquis Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Hubners’ Who’s Who in Romania.

Since 1990, he also worked for several IT startups, including his own DATASIS Consult srl (co-owned with his good friend and faculty colleague Ion Draghicescu) and DATASIS ProSoft srl (who had 25 programmers working for the design and development of several ERP-type database applications for customers from France, UK, Switzerland, USA, Israel, Greece, and Romania).

His main research areas are conceptual data and knowledge modeling and querying; database design, implementation, and optimization; as well as the architecture, design, development, fine-tuning, and maintenance of data and knowledge base management systems.

Dr. Mancas graduated in 1977 from the Computers Department of Politehnica University of Bucharest, Romania, with a thesis on Generating Parsers for LR(k) Grammars, under the supervision of Professor Dan Luca Serbanati. Up until the fall of communism in 1990, he worked as a software engineer and, since 1980, R&D manager of a state-owned Computer Center in Bucharest (contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of a dedicated ERP), also conducting (from time to time) computer programming labs at Politehnica University of Bucharest, but for political reasons, he was not accepted for PhD studies. He started this program under the supervision of Professor Cristian Giumale in 1992 and obtained his PhD in 1997 from the above department, with a thesis on Conceptual Data and Knowledge Modeling.

Evangelism Grounded in Love

If you are like me, at some point in your past or even the present you’ve probably felt a bit of uncertainty about how to effectively share the “good news” of the Bible’s redemptive message. It’s one thing to take that leap of faith into the arms of the Messiah but quite another to articulate that faith in a manner which conveys the hope and peace you’ve found in Jesus.

If you’ve struggled with evangelism then Greg Laurie’s new book Tell Someone: You Can Share the Good News might just give you the tools you need to overcome some of the obstacles you face in sharing the gospel message. Personally I’ve appreciated the down to earth advice found in this book because it is grounded in the overriding principle of love.

As Mr. Laurie put it, “Effective evangelism starts with a God-given concern for the person you are speaking with.”

Five Reasons to Read Tell Someone

Tell Someone: You Can Share the Good News is a concise guide on the basics of evangelism. Greg's pointed wit makes the book not only educational, but entertaining. I've shared the gospel many times in my new life, but God used the book and recent sermons taught at First Baptist Rogers to convict me of my need to change what I've been doing in evangelism and then do it more. Here are five reasons why you should read Tell Someone by Greg Laurie.

1. To start caring (again). I had to be real honest with myself. I see people every day and unless I had met that person predetermined to share the gospel, I don't think twice about their eternity many times. That's a travesty because in all reality, people we meet every day in chance (or providential) encounters are literally walking into a furnace where they will exist for all eternity. How could I not care? While not designed to guilt the reader into evangelism, the book opens by making clear the need for a complete paradigm shift in how we view the inhabitants of this planet.

2. To answer the basic questions. We all learned about the 5-Ws in grade school: who, what, where, when, and why. Greg answers each of these questions (not in that order) in short, succinct chapters. While this may seem rudimentary, the church clearly needs to revisit these basic questions when research suggests that 95% of professing Christians have never led another person to Christ. Pastors: until those numbers decline drastically, we need to be hammering the basics frequently.

3. To answer the other basic question. We also learned about the H question in grade school - how. About half of the book is dedicated to answering this question in some form or fashion. In my humble opinion, the ability to answer this question is what sets apart a good book from a mediocre one, a great teacher from a good one. Far too often, we preach sermons or read books that encourage us to do something without ever showing or explaining to us how. Greg does an outstanding job walking through examples of how to share the gospel like Jesus did, how to use your personal testimony, and how to "close the deal" when someone wants to give their life to Christ.

4. To have a good time. Let's face it - most of us don't joy read instruction manuals for putting together a piece of furniture. Far to often, books such as these end up being about that dry. Greg adds a witty humor to his book that at times had me laughing out loud. The book is sprinkled with humor, but Greg does not shy away from personally gripping stories from his own life. The combination makes the book almost dramatic.

5. You have a spare hour or two. This book is concise enough that you can learn a lot by sitting down and reading for just an hour or two. In fact, if you clip along pretty quick you'll be done with the book in that amount of time. I read it in a day, and with my schedule I appreciate more and more books that I can digest in that amount of time.

I highly recommend Tell Someone for believers who aren't sharing the gospel at least weekly. It will encourage, inspire, convict, equip, and humor you all at the same time. It is worth your time.

I am so grateful to Kevin Sayles for writing this book. As a newbie to Probate Real Estate Investing, the information provided here has formed a solid basis and in-depth knowledge in to the intricate world of Probate.

Kevin has shared a wealth of information and is clearly an expert in his field. I thoroughly enjoyed learning all about Living Trusts, Heggstad Orders, Small Probate, Spousal Orders, TOD Deeds, etc. and I truly gained an overall understanding of how Probate works. I feel much more confidant about advising future clients and working with attorneys, Estate Representatives, Escrow agents and Title Agents etc.

I am tremendously thankful for this content because I searched different sources and could not find anything that was this comprehensive and well written but also covered in detail, many different areas of probate including marketing. This book is AMAZING and compromises what is now my study program and ultimate go-to resource!

Kevin has written this book in such a way that actually got me excited about Probate and literally left me eager to learn more!

So my class decided to use this edition for the first time. I was a little more than upset to find out the cost difference between the tenth and the ninth edition. Once my class started and I had the book, my instructor informed us that the tenth is the same as the ninth except for chapter one and that we could have used the ninth edition.

Classroom Utility-College

Very useful for college students who will be entering into first line supervisory positions. Enough cases and examples are provided for the Professor to select those that are most applicable to the students. The text is too much to use all sections of every chapter; students like to solve various case situations in groups of 4 or 5, reach a consensus, and then present their findings to be ctitiqued by their peers and professor. Power Points are useful, but you need only 1/2 of them.

Use the assessment exercise in the first chapter, calculate the mean, and then give the same assessment at the end of the course. With a sample size of some 25 students per semester, there is a 3-5% improvement. I expected more, but the student body is at a maritime academy (BS Degree plus professional license) in which leadership is ingrained into everyday life, therefore a high base score for the assessment.

Best Action Yet! Can't wait for book 4 coming in the Fall of 2016.

I received an ARC copy for an honest opinion. I have read the first two books of the series and have been totally caught up in the story. I have been a school librarian and know this is just the right read for both boys (a lot of action and intensity) and for girls (love of horses and loving support of friends).

This is the best action of the series so far, just when you thought it couldn't get any better. Nightwing the Destroyer has awakened from his four hundred year sleep and is back to challenge Star for control of the Pegasus herds of Anok. Star has to learn how to fight like a warrior in spite of his injuries, to meet Nightwing's challenge. The fate of the herds depends on it. Very exciting!

Um. This book made me cry. I’m a grown lady. This is a book for middle graders (I like to read along with my son). And…I CRIED. So yeah. This book is EPIC and will sneak up on ya, so watch out!

It starts off with a serious bang and keeps up the intensity. The herds are lining up on the two sides in a long-coming war. Former enemies are now aligned, and it’s not always smooth sailing. The in-fighting on the same team reminded me of Avengers. They’re forced to work together, though, when faced with enslavement at the hands (or hooves, rather) of the enemy, and that was a really cool dynamic to watch at work. It was also fun to see the different cultures and ways of the various herds. There’s lots of training to do, spywork, skirmishes, and danger at every turn. Relationships will be tested, and Starfire, the main hero, is constantly questioned, both from without and from within, about whether he truly is the hero and leader he’s supposed to be. I think that’s the coolest part of this book—watching his journey. The descendants believe in him, but can he believe in himself? And that ending…! Can’t wait for the next book!

A Very Enjoyable Book and Certainly not the Last.

A very good book. I like how pegasi learn to help each other for a common cause---defeat Nightwing and to survive. Just to let you know, this isn't the last book. And the artwork, very enjoyable. I would recommend this to teens and above because there is violence. But I love this series despite being twenty-seven years old. Happy reading!

Waste of my time and money

This book was the worst. I saw a friend of a friend say she read The Cartel 1, 2 & 3 and couldn't wait for part 4 to come out. So I decided to read the for myself since she expressed how great the books were. I loved the first book and I was so eager to start the second book that I finished it in 2 days. The end of book 2 pissed me off by it being a dream and I when I read the beginning of book 3 I was kind of leery about reading it. So I came on Amazon to read the discription of book 4 to see what characters would be in book 4 and damn if it didn't say Breeze, Zyri and Young Carter. After seeing that I dived right into reading book 3. Well I just finished it today and I'm highly pissed.

How in the hell did they escape the Garza Cartel just to die in the first place? Carter killing Mecca even after he found out the truth about Mia was so stupid. For Breezy to survive everything she's been through just to die on her wedding day. I want to know how in the hell did Illanna find them and her brother and his goons didn't? How did Murder know to follow Leena and how did he know to purchase a ticket to Brazil, yet granddaddy money bags had no ideal she was leaving him to go be with Mecca.

I normally purchase kindle books that are $.99 but after spending $7 each on this series, I highly doubt I'll be reading book 4. Even if someone loan it to me for free I refuse to read this miss.

There should have been a 0 star option, 1 star is to high of rating for this book.

Speechless (know the said final but...?)

Do not even know where to begin. So I'll go by character:

Miamor: It is clearly known that I never cared for Miamor's character. Oh, she help make the story great, but she played a major part in the Cartel's demise and the riff between blood. Look at it like this, what if Mecca did confess to killing Monroe and the truce was not broken, Miamor still would have gotten at Carter and his family for her sister's demise despite her guilty role in it. So, I am I happy that the book opened how it did? Hell yeah!

Breeze: My heart goes out to her. She paid the worst toll for her family sin seeing that she was so innocent.

Zyir: Could not help but love and admire him. I could respect that he is flesh and would fall into the devil's trap that is Illiana. But what upsets me is that after finding Breeze, and Carter putting him up on Illiana's jealousy, he still let her be around Breeze. Come on now.

Mecca: From the beginning I could not stand Mecca's demeanor and did boarder line hate him when he killed Monroe despite understanding how it could happen. Let us be real, if in Mecca's situation and witnessing what he did, would you be able to just show Monroe love? Please! But Mecca was a coward because he did not own up to it and helped in the demise of the rest of his family. However, in this finale I fell in love with this new Mecca and as you get to the end it made sense the drastic change in him.

Carter: Despite still being in love with him, Carter's character was my biggest disappointment. His love for Miamor I admire and despise. To see a love so deep is beautiful but after finding out what her plans were for him and his family and still have that burning hate for his brother who saved his life is the saddest. On top of that, he never found out why Mecca killed Monroe. He talked about disloyalty, but Monroe crossed a line that should have never been crossed. While murder surpasses Monroe's betrayal, Mecca deserved redemption for it considering the circumstances. Hell, if Leena could forgive...? Therefore, Carter was seen as the weakest because Miamor clouded his judgment and I hate him for killing Mecca even after he saw the change in his brother. He is just as guilty as Mecca for bringing death to a sibling.

Over all, I thoroughly enjoyed the finale. Way better than Miamor's own, you know I love to hate the chick. The booked had me going and could not put it down (finished in less than 24 hours). I knew the lovey dovey happy ending is not Ashley and Jaquavis style so I was sitting baffled for a minute, but ultimately I am not surprised at the ending.

Couple of things though, what is going to happen with Leena and baby Monroe, how will Leena take Mecca's death, I would of love the demise of Roybn (hated her more than Miamor) what is going to happen between Murder and Carter and will Carter feel any remorse after finding out about Leena and Monroe?

I just could not put the book down

I read the reviews on others thst read this book, thus book was a page turner, it caught me from the beginning I could nor put the book down. So many twist and turns. It had me thinking "WOW" just when I thought this was it in book 2, here comes another twist. I flt sad for Miamor, her ending was vicious
And brutal, Mecca did a number on her and he did deserve to die by the one and only his young brother Carter. I cant wait to gonto book 4. This is an amazing other.

John Montroll is respected for his work in Origami throughout the world. His published work has significantly increased the global repertoire of original designs in Origami. John is also acknowledged for techniques such as the double-rabbit ear fold and for ground-breaking bases like the Dog Base and the Insect Base. The American Origami master is known for being the inspiration behind the single-square, no cuts, no glue approach in Origami. John started folding in elementary school.
